Don't you think there is something in all of us from the time we were a wee little nugget of a thing, that was dying to feel like royalty in our very own canopy bed? I remember thinking that my sad little hand me down twin bed that was in a room shared with another equally unattractive twin bed with my sister, just wouldn't do, wouldn't do by a long shot. Where were the matching pillow cases, blankets, fluffy little accent pillows or ruffly bedskirts? Where was the giant bed with gorgeous flowing pink drapes and fluffy satin slippers at my bedside that would be the perfect princess accessory...Where? What we did have was a 70's extravaganza of disturbing orange wallpaper with giant flowers paired with orange curtains topped off with chartreuse pom pom fringe, because apparently we didn't have enough goin on in there already...this did not fit into my idea of what a bedroom should be...what my imaginary princess bedroom should be. Because yes people, I was designing imaginary rooms way back in the day too. After Big D and I bought our very first home, I sadly painted our bedroom pink...and he let me! My princess dreams were going to be fulfilled one way or the other! Here's to the wee little princess and future queen in all of us...
