Happy New Year people!

The countdown is on until 2013 and here at Casa Cheeky we are gettin all kinds of crazy by staying at home and watching Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper baby!  I've got a cheesecake in the oven and brownies on the way too, because clearly I have not consumed enough saturated fat over this holiday season.  There will be a yummy beef tenderloin and little baby pigs and a blanket wrapped in puff pastry too, and the champagne be a poppin!

Well, if I can make it past 9 it will be...

Speaking of champagne, I love a Kir Royale, which is also great if you have just so-so champagne, or if you just want something pretty for a change!
Just a splash of Chambord, fill with so-so champagne add a raspberry and a lemon twist and you have this fancy schmancy thing...

Oh yeah, and starting tomorrow...this is me...

Happy New Year!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

Hell hath apparently frozen over people because Dallas had a bonafide white Christmas!  I have lived here for over fifteen years and this is only the second white Christmas that we have been blessed with in all of those years.  Our winter has crazy über warm like everyone else this year, so to have snow on Christmas was beyond crazy...

My Santa and snow covered reindeer...

Snow on vintage ornaments...
 And moss covered presents...

Snow by the pool...

The fireplace...

And empty garden pots...

 A forgotten trampoline...
Puppies and flamingos run wild...

Back to the fire...
And all is right with the world...

Hot mess Christmas panic may now begin...

It's crunch time people, and clearly I'm losing the battle of the crunch...

This is my car.
My bedroom aka Santa's work shop...

Not one cookie has been baked.

Not one Christmas card has been sent.

And the dust bunnies are starting to knit each other sweaters...

Merry Christmas, eh...maybe...

Bravery in the eye of the storm...

Wow, I've been trying to get in the holiday mood by posting silly trite cheeky things, and well I haven't been capable of it.  There are so many heavy hearts literally everywhere.  All over the world, this horrible event has touched something visceral in all of us, thank God.  I saw an interview on Anderson Cooper last night of one of the mothers who lost her most precious daughter and was beyond shocked at her ability to speak with so much comfort and with so much grace, I said out loud, "How does she do it?"  She had written a note to Anderson after the interview saying that this was the worst kind of pain she had ever or would ever feel, and she knew that this would be as bad as it could ever get for her, so quite simply it allowed her to be brave, to forge ahead at the most unspeakable time of her life because there was nothing left to fear having gone through this...I was in awe...

So let's all take a moment to adjust our sails for those sweet precious ones in Newtown

Wisteria at Christmas...

I'm sure you all are on the receiving end of some of those great Wisteria catalogs that we all get in the mail every so often, but luckily I am in driving distance to the one and only actual store in all of the US!  So I loaded up in my gas guzzlin SUV and headed up the tollway to the land of fab finds, and unlimited must-haves and can-not-live-withouts.  The placed was decked out to the nines with all the holiday decor...
I wanted to fill up m'car with all of it!
Anyone need an elephant for their holiday displays?
I have no idea how much this thing is, it had a check with associate for the price on its tag, which is, let's face it, never a good sign for a bargain people...
 I want this desperately!
A little red...
 Love this...

Love this candlestick lamp...
Love these felt trees!
And some blue...
 Something beachy...

Love all of this!
Love this sectional, and could see it for Beach Cheeky, but sadly not comfy at all, go figure!  I do want a linen sectional for the beach house, but super comfy paired with a couple of chairs or chaise...
I'm kind of loving this indigo blue situation, it reads black on the pic but it's actually this really dark beyond navy...and it was super comfy too!
Ok this was the best thing I have sat in, well people, in awhile thank you very much, it was the most perfect shade of pale I don't know what, but it was perfect velvet, which is my new obsession...velvet, and it swivels! The chair swivels!  For a mere $1999 bones this perfect shade of I don't know what swivels, and I must have it, therefore it shall never be mine because Big D will shut me down with that ridiculous 'you must be crazy' look...I hate that look...
Loved this, it looks cream, but actually the most perfect gray...
Side chairs super cut yet not super comfy...
This is quite the table...

Love this coffee table, not the zebra couch thing goin on beside it...yikes, well it is a look, but not a Cheeky look...
The most precious wool felt nativity set!

Can you stand it?

Cheeky Blue reindeer invitations...

Just finished hot glueing some pretty adorable sparkly blue reindeer on invitations for a huge holiday progressive dinner for 75, that's right 75 high school girls!  I have been bedazzled with glitter all day thank you very much because that stuff goes everywhere.  My girlfriend has one of those Cricut cutting machines that cut out all kinds of  crazy cute shapes, and I proceeded to add some fab iridescent glitter for a little extra somethin somethin...
Loads of them too...
Topped off with a little pearl nose...
A little hot glue...
And voila!
Glitter Fabulous!
