Beach Cheeky choices, decisions and can't make up my mind situations!!

We are so happy that our house is finally built, but many things still need to be done, bought, borrowed or stolen!!!!  The first things are the windows.  We spent 10 days at the beach with nothing covering the windows which is kind of nuts, but this is one of those decisions that I can't make from another state.  We have one quote for the windows and we need a few more (because the price for window decor sent Big D into an apoplectic fit that was not pretty people, not pretty at all) hence the need for a few more quotes!!  I'm thinking woven woods for the living areas and linen shades for the bedrooms…

Something like this in the main living area…

Or here from Cote de Texas…

In the bedrooms something a bit softer using linen shades...

We will put full drapes beside the woven woods in the main living area…
Next on the list is coffee table, kitchen nook table, and rugs for the whole house!

Lazy poster alert and beds I'd like to snuggle up in!

Wow, I've been a neglectful poster and all around lazy blogger as of late, and I've told myself to snap out of it!  It's well past the new year so I really have no excuse.  As much as I love the holidays, it is so nice to get all the clutter of the decorations cleared out and put away.  I feel like I need to go on a spring cleaning expedition even though we are no where near spring!  We have had some gorgeous sunny January days lately with temps in the 60's so a good dose of Vitamin D has made me feel productive again rather than a lazy sloth shuffling around the house trying to keep warm.
I've been trying to get the bed situation figured out for Beach Cheeky and I keep going back and forth on what kind of look I want in each room.  In my daughters room we put a four poster bed that used to be our master bed until we decided we needed a king size bed.  It's been gathering dust in our garage for the past 7 years!

I know I want to do some upholstered beds just not exactly sure which bedrooms and what style yet.  In looking through various ideas on Pinterest, I came across some pretty amazing beds and bedrooms that make me want to re-do my bed at home in Dallas!

Like this gorgeous paisley bed!  I am obsessed with paisley right now, and I would love to curl up in this with my pups and never get out!

As for Beach Cheeky I'm think something more transitional…

Back from a long Beach Cheeky break!

We are finally back from a long, relaxing break at the beach, and it was so incredibly relaxing and exciting to be in the new house.  We had chilly, but mild weather with most days being in the 50-60 degree range.  It was so odd being at the beach this time of year because although there were many people there coming to their homes for the holidays, it was so empty compared to summer, and we loved it!  No traffic or long waits for tables and Seaside was decked out for the holidays.  We woke up at the crack of dawn since we have zero blinds in the house, which is now first on the list of things to get done.  We were all exhausted by 8:30 and most nights in bed by 11, with the exception of New Years Eve, and we barely made midnight!  Now we are back in Dallas and it is freezing like the rest of the country.  I'm cooking chicken and noodles and bundled up in my blanket and getting Big D to light the fireplace.

Here's a few pics from the beachy Christmas…

I picked up some nautical ornaments at Wisteria in Dallas...
and some vintage ones on Ebay…
My old wooden pelicans that I found at one of the booths at The White Elephant in Dallas…they are now known as Fred and Ethyl!
This is Ethyl…
We had a rather large friend visit the pier on our first day…he's gynormous!
Everyone loved to sit out there…

It is so serene…
And the furniture finally came!  Well, some came later than we had hoped, but it all worked out in the end…remember the boat?  There it is along the wall!
I love how the hood turned out!  They still need to do a few things to the house like add the missing tile by the hood, and a whole host of other things, but we were grateful to be able to get in for the holidays...

The bunk room…
The breakfast nook, which still needs a table, seat cushions and blinds!
The blue shutters are up!
The lake is like a mirror here!
The beach and the water were gorgeous…
Can't wait until next time!
