Million Dollar Decorators...Bravo!

OK my newest most favority fave can't get enough of show...Million Dollar Decorators!  I love, love, love this show.  It's a wallpaper fabric feast for the eyes!

Seriously I am besotted with this show and in particular Mary McDonald...she's the fierce one with her boots and dynamo giant chain bling up above.

and here...

People, you must watch this show because she is not to believe!  The character Karen from Will and Grace is loosely based on Ms. Mary McDonald, and I can totally see it!  Remember her...

I want to have a dinner party where Mary McDonald comes with my other imaginary list of amazing dinner folk like Andy Cohen, Ellen DeGeneres, Christian Siriano, Anderson Cooper, Kathy Griffin, and Queen Elizabeth...but what would I serve?

Her designs are to die for, and not in my typical wheelhouse of things that I tend to go for.  But they are above and beyond all that is ordinary.  Her office is sublime...

A dramatic blue bedroom...she is known for her bold geometric patterns on the floor...

See the strong geometric zig zag on the floor?  It totally makes the room!

and here...

I am telling you I could move right into the fabulousness that is her dressing room and never want for anything else...it is that spectacular!

Tuesday nights can't get here fast enough!

Countdown to the beach...

I've been running all over this place trying to get ready for our impending trip.  Big D is in London all week which means, lucky girl that I am, I'm the only one running around like a crazy person doing 800 loads of laundry.  So many things to do.  I need to call Mr. Beach Chair Guy (actually I think his name is Chip) and get us chairs and an umbrella because it's going to be HOT and mama needs some protection from all those beach rays...

And to get my mind off my dreaded never ending pile of laundry...

I thought I would post some pretty great pics of homes that are in Water Color which is very near where we are staying...

Hope you're having a great week sans dirty laundry!

Whiskey Cake we go go...

Every Father's Day the five of us head out to get our brunch on at one place or another.  This year we tried a new place, and boy was it a winner.  Big D and I have been for dinner and drinks, but we heard their brunch was not to be missed, so off to Whiskey Cake we went.  The whole concept of the restaurant is farm to fork dining so that the ingredients are the freshest, made from scratch plate of delish that you can possibly get!  When we came in, I grabbed the iphone and started clicking away at their adorable decor.  I'm pretty sure people thought I was a whole bunch of crazy, but I simply do not care! The whole place has a kind of Texas industrial vibe which somehow works.

Even in the bathroom...yes, I am shameless people...

We started off with a yum mimosa...

They serve their coffee in totally random mixed up mugs...this was mine...

And then for the best fried green tomatoes that I have ever had...

And then it gets better, oh yes it does...
Banana pancakes

Pulled pork eggs benedict with a biscuit that will make you cry...

French toast dipped in crushed Captain Crunch stuffed with mascarpone cheese and berries...see I told you it gets better!

And then for dessert...what are you crazy?  Did you not just see what little piglets we made of ourselves!
But if I did, they have a good one, which is of course whiskey cake!

Well hello gorgeous...kitchens!

Wouldn't it be amazing to be one of those people who have something like five houses?  Excessive...yes.  Obnoxious...absolutely.  Superfluous...goes without saying!  Honestly I couldn't even handle an imaginary set of five homes, but to the people who run in ooh-i-actually-own-five-freakin-houses-circles, all I have to say to them is, can I come over and decorate your kitchens in said fabulous five houses for a small fee of well...maybe a bucket of chicken or something?  Oh, who am I kidding?  These people with ridiculously amazing five houses are hiring proper professionals to fabulize their uber chic Viking/Subzero/not-a-lot-of-Target/Big Lot-goin-on-in-here kitchens.  But no matter, I shall carry on to my imaginary wanna be kitchens du jour...

Like this...

Aren't these hanging lamps perfect for this space?  Notice the open storage used in lieu of solid cabinets.

Look at the amazing stainless hood!

Doesn't the subway tile mixed with the old beams and clock look perfectly perfect?

OK, I pretty much love everything about this fabu kitchen...check out those amazing wired cabinets!

Something blue and great for a cottage look...

This open shelving look is everywhere right now.  I love it, but feel that the messy side of me would not cooperate with an open shelving situation...but it looks great in the movie It's Complicated...

Beautiful bathrooms baby!

I love beautiful bathrooms, and here at Casa Cheeky, ours is badly in need of a total redo.  But who knows when Big D will let me tackle that gynormous money sucking project, so in the mean time I will live vicariously through all the ones I find pretty spectacular...

I am desperate for this tub.  Let's face it, it's probably a gazillion dollars, but still, it's flippin gorgeous...

Like with this bathroom at Velvet and Linen, I am pseudo stalker obsessed with her bathroom...specifically the tub.  Oh Ma Gah...loves it

Love the clean lines and the simplicity in here...

Mama wants this trumeau mirror...like yesterday!

Gorgeous use of sea glass tile behind the mirrors, but I love, love the faucets in here!

Now if I can only talk Big D into another MAJAH renovation...
