Flowers in spring time...

The chimes are blowing in the wind, the Barn Swallows are nesting, and the Lady Banks Rose is blooming on the hill, so it must be spring!  It's starting to look happy outside again!  This is the March that I'm used to in Dallas, not a cloud in the sky, breezy and 66 degrees...I'll take it!

A place where the pups run up and down the fence chasing their nemesis...the squirrel!

A little yellow and some blue...

A place to listen to the wind in the chimes...
Even if you're a wee bit sleepy...

Lampsapalooza...

You all know about my problem making decisions on lamps, and my sad little lampless house, because I love me some fab expensive ones, but can never commit to them, because I'm cheap!  Well, and it's a lamp, I mean how much do you really need to blow on a source of light?  I have been on a mission to buy a little of this and that for Beach Cheeky, and stop the presses people...I actually bought some lamps!  Whattttt??!!!!  Why yes, yes I did...

They're perfect for Beach Cheeky...and they're cheap!

The first ones I found at Tuesday Morning on one of my bargain shopping excursions, and they are great!  They are sea grass lamps with a linen shade!  And they were $84.99 a piece thank you very much!

Last week I got the bargain of all bargains.  I went to the Wisteria Warehouse Sale, which was cray cray BTW, and I found two candlestick lamps (sadly sans shades, but I will find some sooner or later)
Here's the crazy line I waited in...

But it was worth it because I found these, and a few other treasures as well...
For...wait for it...
Now Big D can not say boo to that, because that people, is the bargain of the century!

Here's some I'm loving, even though they are crazy expensive!

I love this hideously expensive Bliss Studio Gold Cane Table Lamp for a mere $625 bones!

Or this Quatrefoil Cage Lamp for $369.00...gorgeous...

Then of course blue murano...can you stand it?!?!

It's time to go winter weather...like yesterday already...

What is up with the weather?  We are going to hit freezing tonight and it's March 25, and in Dallas that's kinda crazy.  Everyone up north is getting hit with blizzardpalooza, so 31 degrees isn't so newsworthy, but I'm done with it I tell you!!

Let's all pretend it's warm!

I'd be wearing this...

Or maybe this...
On this...
With him...

Heeeeyyy Ryan...wanna go sailing?

Pendant lights in the kitchen...

There are many different directions to go in lighting for a kitchen.  In my kitchen in Dallas we have recessed can lights throughout the entire kitchen and one pendant over the kitchen table.  A table, mind you that no one uses sadly, because we always eat at the island!  We are pretty casual that way, or lazy, either way the table never get's used...

In planning Beach Cheeky, we will be using some pendants over the island, and then we will have something in the little breakfast nook area too, plus one in the large family room/dining area combo.  So the question is how do you balance the three lighting elements without making it look like it's all junked up with a bunch of different lights?  That's a good question, and I haven't figured it out yet!

But here are some that I'm loving, and even considering...
This is gorgeous room done by Urban Grace Interiors used this great Goodman Hanging Lamp over the island...

They come in different sizes, but I love how big they are!

Here it is in another kitchen and you see how they pair it with a different lamp over the breakfast area...
There are different color options too...

Here it is in gold...

In gray...

I'm also loving this gynormous pendant!  This thing is huge...

Three pendants in red, not for Beach Cheeky, but the color is great mixed with the dark cabinets...

Lanterns look great too over a kitchen island...

Here they carried the lanterns all the way over to the breakfast area...

Love this green!

For the dining area I want something more beachy...

Love this blue!! The Masion Luxe Sara Chandelier!

It's spring break in Dallas, and I'm not at a beach...grrr, let's shop for the beach anyhoo!

So I'm stuck in Dallas for spring break which isn't so very bad because it's sunny and 81 today which is warmer than most of Florida thank you very much, but I'm desperate for a beach people!  A beach and a cabana boy!  A beach and a cabana boy bringing me a minty mojito whilst adjusting my shade in a timely manner with an appropriate umbrella as needed and spritzing me with some serious SPF per my sad Irish skin situation!  OY, yet sadly, I was stuck in Dallas 'cause Big D had his poor gallbladder taken out on Monday and all is well after a little super glue, sticky tape, a couple days of narcotics, a little bit of R and R, and the miracle of modern medicine has made Big D as good as new!  But before the superglue/narcotic Manic Monday I spent last Friday down in Dallas perusing some places I haven't been in a while looking for some treasures for Beach Cheeky...

This is Big Mango Trading Company, and they have the most original things that you don't see anywhere else.  A lot of their things come from Bali, and they are all pretty special...

A huge teak root sculpture that is headed for a Possum Kingdom "lake house" which is really, let's face it, probably more a lake mansion because it is not only art for the house, but it will be enclosed in a wall of glass to provide a protective wall from the elements...that sounds fancy schmancy...just sayin...
I know this looks faux bois, but it is not, it's another teak root thing, and it's crazy amazing!  What a bench this would be!!!

OK I fell in love with these, and I'm thinking they would be adorable at Beach Cheeky in some gravel at the front of the house or even out back on the dock...
Some interesting statues, not my particular cup of tea, but it's all very zen for sure...
Love this sculptured ball of from a teak root!
Gorgeous blue volcanic glass...
Granite and limestone balls for landscaping...these are so great!

Love this drift wood mirror...ignore me in the mirror!
