Wingback chair love...

There is just something about a wingback chair that I just love.  It probably goes back to the days of hanging out in my dad's law office when I was a wee little nugget of a thing.  All the leather wing chairs placed prominently behind large walnut desks seemed to make some kind of impression on me.  I remember thinking back then that all this leather wasn't working for me, and I would go in and flower it up a bit if it were my office.  See I was doing my imaginary decorating back then too.  But now that our house  actually has an office with dark paneled walls, it was just crying out for a wingback, and it needed to be in leath-a!!

Making an entrance...

The entryway of a house can set the tone for the rest of the home.  You get a sense of what the home is about right from the very beginning, even if that's the only part of the house you get to see.  I always struggle with my entry since I tend to stack everything on the stairs that needs to make its way up to the second floor at some point like towels, sheets, books, drill team uniforms, boots, and belts.  So at any given time my entry is setting the someone needs to get their act together and clean up this hot mess tone...not exactly the look I'm going for.  Here are some entries that get it exactly right...

I love the round table in the middle of the entry...

Party time...

I am dying to throw a party...or go to one.  But, what to wear?  What to serve?  How should I decorate?
Is it just me or does no one seem to throw parties anymore?  I know, I get it...they're a lot, and I mean a lot of work, but the pay off is so worth it!  Everyone loves a party, and sometimes the best ones are just impromptu get togethers that aren't too over thought.  But today we will over think it a bit.  Something fab and fantastic, since I just got back from NYC, it has gotten me all in the mood for something a little bit over the top...

I would love to wear this, but it would have to be a pretty fab party...

My Kinda town...New York City!

OK people fresh off a plane from NYC, and suffice it to say it is still one of my most favorite places in all the world!

Some of these sadly are from my iPhone

Well it get's MAJAH points alone for having a little cold front roll in and allowing Mama to wear my newest fall boots of choice since I can pretty much only walk around in a bathing suit in Dallas because it is AFRICA FREAKING HOT IN SEPTEMBER HERE...when it should be CUTE FALL BOOT WEARING TIME!

Baltazar for brunch...
OK I have been dying to go to Baltazar for pretty much like forever, and finally Mama got her act together enough to make reservations for a proper Sunday morning brunch situation people!  Aesthetics A+...

Scrambled eggs with asparagus, wild mushrooms ala puff pastry...delish!
Brioche French Toast...um...meh...seriously a big alrighty then!  So this is what I've been waiting for like FOREVER yet could have produced in me old wee little kitchen yet way and I do mean waayyyy better?

But since I love NYC with all my heart and soul I shall throw them a freakin bone already...cause Mama got to wear boots...and a scarf, which pretty much wipes the average tasty Brioche Baltazar French Toast away...

Did I mention I saw UMA?  As in Uma Thurman at THE BOOK OF MORMAN on Friday evening?
Well I did, and no I don't have a picture so you're going to have to trust me on this...so anyhoo, she was right in front of me in the audience, and I wanted to say "Uma...I loved you in Dangerous Liaisons and you were my personal bad ass hero in Kill Bill, yet not so much in My Super Ex-Girlfriend...but they can't all be pearls can they?"  But of course I didn't say that because that would be bad form and all...not to mention I had to get to the ladies room pronto fast because my liquid dinner of Pinot Grigio and a hot cup of cappuccino had kicked in by then.  People listen to me now because I'm about to throw you a little advice...not that you asked, but here you go anyway.  If you have a chance and if you have the means, run and buy every ticket you can to the funniest Broadway Musical that I have ever seen!  THE BOOK OF MORMON because well it is in a word...HIGH-FREAKIN-LARIOUS!!
