Wisteria flea market...OMG

In Dallas we are lucky enough to have an actual Wisteria store where you can go peruse their AH-MAYY-HAYzing pieces.  On Thursday and Fridays each week they have a flea market where slightly dinged pieces reside and there is some great stuff!  This is actually the first time I got my act together to go down there and check it all out.  There was an endless supply of wants and desperately must have pieces!  So sorry for the sad little phone pics, I ran out of the house dreadfully unprepared for proper blogging!

These first pieces are not from the flea market, but the actual store
Like this great day bed...
I want this chair...
I love the spindles on this table!
Great bench...
Some great lamps...

Chest of drawers...
Store piece at over $1200
Flea market piece for less than half!  I sat there and contemplated where in the world I could put this in my house before walking away...I loved it!
Here is the flea market piece...
How great is this?
Some great cast iron planters in white.  These were sold otherwise I would have snatched them right up!
It's hard to tell from the picture, but this blue planter is humongous!
I came home with a blue planter that was originally close to $300 and got the rock bottom price of 75 bones!  I can't wait to plant something gorgeous in it!

Café au lait bowls are pretty adorable...

I've been looking for some café au lait bowls for a while, but like most things worthy of purchasing unless it's a way too expensive pair of shoes, jeans or purse situation...I keep deliberating.  Café au lait is made by mixing strong coffee with heated or scalded milk depending on who you ask.  But the bowls are so adorable that I just want to put them on my tables filled with peonies or spring flowers.

Here are some worthy of consideration...

Wow, now that's commitment!

Ethos...

ethos [ee-thos, ee-thohs, eth-os, -ohs]
— n
the distinctive character, spirit, and attitudes of a people, culture, era, etc:

We all have that something that defines us. That certain something that can be narrowed down to one or two words. The essence of who we are. Inevitably, we reflect that in our homes, work, what we buy, drive, and cook. Who are you...really? The perfectionist, the narcissist, the giver, the martyr, the enforcer, the mediator, the empathizer, the thinker...or a combination of a few? All of this reflects back to your home, your enclave, your safe little harbor from the world. My ethos I think, because I'm self analyzing here, reflects in my love of things not so very perfect. I'm an underdog kind of girl. Things that need a little help are immediately special to me. The tattered corner of a quilt, the chipping paint of a chair, the dog chewed coffee table that I perch my feet on daily.

Love the chippy paint of this elegantly tattered chair...

Spring is here!

It's official people

And right now in Dallas we are getting one heck of a raucous spring storm, and it's looking a wee bit sketchy outside.  So I'm hiding with my three furry niños hoping I don't have to dive into the closet for cover.  I was driving down the street this week and noticed the bluebonnets are starting to sprout, but not quite there yet, oh how I'd love to have a yard full of them...

Here are some possible must haves for spring this year.
Polka dot pants from Anthropologie...

Too cute, I saw them today in blue and gray...

An adorable pair of lace shorts...these are Haute Hippie

A cute wedge...these are from Dolce Vita...

A new pair of sunglasses...Tory Burch Spring 2012

And maybe a bag or two...
Love this tote for the beach...Tory Burch Straw Turnlock Tote.

Ok that's more than two...

Settee love...

I love the look of a quaint little settee.  It can absolutely make a room.  Not quite a couch, not quite a chair, but a place to sit knowing it's not a place to lounge.  Here are some that I'd love to sit, have a chat, and maybe a cup of tea or drinks with friends.

I love the juxtaposition of the white and pink against the heaviness of the dark library...and I'm pining for this mirrored coffee table too!

I love this!

Love the color, the mod stripe against a traditional piece...

Something more traditional and elegant...

How comfy does this look?  Silk maybe?
Will I ever have anything silk with my three 70 pound dogs?

Something vintage...

Something leather...

Something French from Full Bloom Cottage...

Yes please!

Coffee, tea, or me?

Finding the perfect coffee table, or even knowing what kind of look you are wanting for a particular room can be a little daunting.  There are so many different ways to go.  Do you want a rustic look, a vintage mirrored look, a contemporary glass look, or the always fabulous lucite option?

Like here, loving this look with the gold and glass...

The Garbo Coffee Table from Vielles + Frances...can you stand it?

Lucite at its best...

Or something slightly rustic...

Spring is in the air...

Spring is in the air in our neck of the woods, although honestly winter kind of seemed like a whole lotta spring here in Dallas too.  My allergies are a mess.  I'm on Clariton, nose spray, pseudoephedrine, gallons of water, and a glass of Pinot Noir for good measure...well, it can't hurt can it?  So in-between sneezes today, I was out doing the daily shopping for dinner at Central Market, which is seriously the most amazing grocery store known to man.  I go shopping for dinner nearly everyday, like in France going for the fresh fab baguette situation and fresh greens and local fare from the country market.  Except I'm not French, I don't live in the country, and I'm not so much buying local fare fabulousness. Sometimes I come home with frozen corn dogs, the makings for chili con queso, or a box of Eggos...no judging people.  I used to be a planner, where did that person go?  But not today people!  Today I outdid myself and made a proper dinner with daily fab baguette situation and all. Well I didn't make the baguette, but I carefully placed its crusty deliciousness into my cart and drove it home and placed it in my pantry...so there's that.  Anyhoo, whilst shopping for said proper dinner, I saw that they had Forsythia branches for sale, loads of them, and I wanted to get some, but thought better of it with all of my sneezing, coughing, and mucousy unpleasantness.

But I've been inspired...
