Happy Holidays to you and yours!

It's just two days until Santa Claus is comin to town, and I am all a flutter with excitement because Dallas might actually get snow!  Well, snow is relative right?  Maybe a flurry or two, but no matter, snow is akin to a major miracle in Dallas especially at Christmas!  I have lived here for almost 14 years and snow has graced our presence only once at Christmas!  Here's to some real real snow!

Can you imagine?

Casa Cheeky at Christmas...

It's a Christmas miracle people, the tree is officially decked out to the nines with ornaments galore...whew...that was a close one.  This was probably the latest I have ever, and I do mean EVAH decorated the family tree including the year I had a baby two days before Thanksgiving along with a 20 month toddler at home, so clearly I've turned into some sort of a hot mess where Christmas is concerned, but sometimes life gets in the way of decorating and that's the way it is!  So here is a glimpse of Casa Cheeky at Christmas...

Gynormous blue ornament that weighs a ton from an ornament exchange last week...somehow it works...

Vintage ornaments...

And the tree...clearly Wags is exhausted from all of the holiday preparations...

Holiday Greetings!

Blue Christmas...

This holiday season is kicking my proverbial butt this year!  Sadly my sad sad tree sits in my living room sans decorations!  Every night I pledge to complete the task, but once I sit down I get altogether distracted by a million other things like episodes of Real Housewives, you know the important stuff.  Anyhoo, here are some beautiful inspirations for me to get my act together.

I love love this!

Comfy and cozy...

It has been so chilly con carnĂ© in Dallas these last few days that I have been wrapped up in blankets, boots, socks and sweaters and have burned more wood in the fireplace than you can imagine.  The houses here are just not equipped for 20 degrees at night!  Now all you northerners quit your PUH-LEASE nonsense laughing hysterically judgment to yourself, because I am a born and raised corn fed went to Indiana University Hoosier for the first 21 years of my life, lived in god for saken cold as hell Iowa City (which is awesome by the way if you can deal with the weather, which...well...I couldn't) for 6 years, and then off to Kansas City for 3 before settling in the good ole south...so mama knows cold!  And no Dallas cold is clearly not Duluth Minnesota cold, thank you sweet baby Jesus...but like I said, the houses are not equipped for unseasonably cold situations.
So I'm thinking I could use some of these toasty items at a time like this!

Seriously how cozy are these?  Nothing like some woolies and some wellies!!

Sitting by the fire wishing for snow!

In Dallas snow is a luxury, so any remote possible sign or slimmer of chance of snow gets everyone beyond excited.  Two days ago there was a chance of snow...now we are down to a remote flurry situation, but that hasn't tempered my excitement remembering the days of growing up back in the day in Indiana when a snow was really a snow.

So I'm sitting here by the fire
watching the hot mess that are the ladies of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and thinking about snow...and thinking that these women are beyond ridiculous, and yet I watch it week after week.  You know why...it's awesome that's why, and yes I know my brain might shrivel up from the crap that is reality TV, but it's better than a plethora of other vices so no judging people!!!

But I wish it would snow...
