The temperature says 105, but the pumpkins say it's fall!

This has clearly been the summer from hell in Dallas.  Last week Mother Nature thought it would be hilarious to play a practical joke on all of us who have endured this ungodly heat by sending a week of actual normal temperatures our way only to shatter our hopeful dreams of impending fall by slapping us back to reality with another round of fry an egg on the sidewalk weather.  No matter, while shopping for an organic chicken situation at Whole Foods, I was greeted by the most beautiful sight...pumpkins!

But not just regular, ordinary pumpkins, which are awesome by the way.  But every possible kind of pumpkin that I never knew existed...This is the Big Mac...who knew!
This is the Fairytale...think Cinderella and her fab ride...Bippity Boppity Boo...

The Ghost White...think Martha Stewart, Westport CT Halloween circa 1990's and all that is fabulous...

The Native American Mix...think pilgrims, Indian corn, and Indian summers...

The Jarrahdale...in green or classic orange...think my front porch around October 1st...

And some crazy gourds, like the Lunch Lady...clearly one unattractive lunch lady!!

Some abnormally large ones...
And wee little precious nugget ones...
So until Mother Nature gets her act together, I can look at pumpkins and know that fall will be here one day soon...
