Sizzlin in Savannah...

I just spent an amazing couple of days in the beautiful city of Savannah, and it is everything you think it might be.  The giant Oaks are draped in Spanish moss and create a canopy over nearly every street.  There are little parks that are surrounded by antebellum southern mansions and you really feel as though you have been transported into another time and place.

This is the Mercer house from the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil...

Loving these shutters and doors against the painted white brick of this old building.  Who would have thought a tattoo parlor could be so chic?

The homes and architecture have a weathered patina to them that only adds to the beauty of the city...

I love the color of this door and the knocker must be mine!!

There are various gates that open to courtyards all over the city...

The shops are just as quaint.  I kept running in all kinds of shops to take advantage of the air conditioning.  Words can not properly describe the heat that was taking over the city the few days I was there.  I may have lost five pounds in sweat which were promptly put back on with all the food I couldn't quit eating!

Shop SCAD is the Savannah College of Art and Design store that sells art, textiles, and wares from local students...

These pillows look amazing on this french settee all designed by a SCAD student...

I love, love these drapes!  Can't you see this over a caned french twin bed?  Loving the copper tie backs for the curtains...

Notice how they hang it from the copper piping....

I can't wait to go back.  Savannah in the middle of fall might be more my type of weather!
