If you can't go to the beach, bring the beach to you...

I'm all a flutter about my upcoming excursion to the beach.  Part of my affection for the beach are the colors of the existing surroundings everywhere you look.  Blue of course, but not just blue.  It's every possible shade in between depending on what time of day it is.  I also love the visual texture of the beach with the white fluffy sand juxtaposed against the plumes of sea grass shooting out from the dunes, and the weathered walkway of the piers.
Can you tell I'm a wee little excited!  But if you can't get to the beach, then bring the beach to you.  I have used elements from the coast in my decorating for a while now, but a little definitely goes a long way.  Here are some ways to bring it back home with you...

I love the texture of the headboard and baseboard, and I love white linen on the bed.

Lovin the wood table mixed with the coral next to a grouping of old books.  And the chairs slipcovered in white...me likey!  Now the lamp may be one step to beach pour moi, I would prefer a murano glass lamp or just a clear lamp base with a fabulous shade...

These giant clam shells are amazing!

OK, I am obsessed with this blue coral chandelier!  It is from Marjorie Skouras Design...

It reminds me of the one I found in Mckinney from Gray Living...

In my house I love to use coral we have found on beach trips, and acquired along the way...

An old oil painting I found up in Mckinney...

So go out and get your beach on!
