Happy Anniversary, Napa Style...

Holy cow 21 years!  That's how long I've been married to Big D!  I know, I can't believe it either.  This time last year we went on a trip to Napa to celebrate the big 20 and had a ball.   I am here to tell you if you have not been...go!  It's like Tuscany!  Well, not that I've ever been to Tuscany, because sadly, I have not...it is what I imagine Tuscany would be like, but with better plumbing!  So it's like a Disney version of Tuscany!  It would be great for a girls trip too with all the amazing spas to go to and great shopping.  We flew into San Francisco and rented a convertible to take in all the sites.

First stop Golden Gate Bridge...

Then a short 30 minute drive and you end up in Napa.
Our first stop was the Nicholson Ranch Winery which was very close to our cottage and known for their Pinot Noirs.

We made a furry friend along the way...

Then off to our Inn which is actually a group of cottages called The Carneros Inn.
This place was too cute for words!

I love all the windows, everything light and bright!

Cute striped hanging lamp over the tub...

Loving the subway tile, and the opening to the outside which was actually an outdoor shower...

This place was so great!

That night it was off to Yountville about 10 minutes up the road, which is home to many famous restaurants such as Thomas Keller's Bouchon, Ad Hoc and French Laundry, which is pretty near impossible to get into.  We decided on Botega, Michael Chiarello's newest venture into deliciousness...

The next day we booked a tour through Napa Valley Tours and set off for the Silverado Trail, which is filled with unbelievable winery after winery.  We stopped at Robert Sinskey Winery which is an entirely organic winery with the most amazing Pinot Noirs.  We loved their Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc as well.

Then off to Shramsberg which is known for their sparkling wine which is served at many White House state dinners... and they have caves!

I'm smiling on the outside, but freaking out on the inside feeling a little claustrophobic and about 30 seconds from running straight out of here!

Look at all the creepy stuff growing on the ceiling!

But the place was really amazing...

The last day was back in the convertible and off to St. Helena which was absolutely beyond adorable!
We had the most amazing burger, sweet potato fries, milk shake, and of course because we are in wine country...a mini bottle of Shrambsberg!

Then back that night to the Carneros Inn for dinner at Farm...

I love these hanging outdoor lamps!  Might have to get some of those!

A great way to spend our 20th anniversary!
